FITTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR WP AIR BAG CONVERSION KIT

Fitting Instructions: Disconnect the battery…wait at least 15 minutes before carrying out any further work. This allows the air bag system to dis-arm. Remove the air bag from the steering wheel by releasing the two star drive screws in the back of the steering wheel right and left spokes. Unplug the wire on the back of the air bag. Store redundant air bag somewhere safe and secure. Remove the steering wheel from the steering column making sure the position of the wheel is in the straight-ahead position i.e. in the normal straight ahead driving position. Remove the horn contact ring, which is secured with 4 self-tapping screws, and disconnect the multiplug. Cut the multiplug from the black earth wire and purple horn feed wire. The black earth wire can be taped back as it is not required. The purple horn feed wire needs to have the electrical spade terminal fitted. Remove the column cowling, which will allow access to the inner workings of the steering column. Fit the horn contact to one of the 4 securing screws that hold the indicator/wiper switches in place. Connect the purple horn contact wire to the horn contact spring…be careful when connecting this as the horn contact is fairly fragile. Tape back the yellow air bag wiring loom, as it is no longer required.
