Connecting the Balance Pipes
Part No: WPA 9583X

Carburettor Models:

Ideally you should have run your Mini virtually bone dry of fuel before attempting this job.

With the left hand tank still in place, remove the fuel pipe from the bottom of the tank. Position the metal balance pipe in place and connect to the two tanks and to the main fuel line.

Part fill both tanks and check for any leaks.

Washer Bottle Relocation:

Remember the bracket from the wheel arch?

This needs to be modified so that it can be drilled and re-positioned on the rear bulkhead, ie. cut/grind off the un-wanted extensions. Do not attempt to fit this to the rear bulkhead without carefully checking the final position. Make sure the spare wheel and boot board (if one is fitted) are in place. It will also be necessary to extend the length of the washer tubing and wiring loom so that the washer bottle can be lifted from its bracket for filling. Do not fill the washer bottle above half way as it sits at a slight angle once secured and can spill if over-filled.

Fuel Caps:

We recommend using only vented fuel caps, especially on Injection models as these will reduce the risk of any pressurisation in hot weather.

All that remains now is to enjoy your newly found freedom……… no more stopping at every fuel station!!
